But those are the rules, and it wouldn't be so egregious if it didn't produce the very undemocratic result of people acting in official capacities on our behalf that answer to no one but the Sutherlands - or in the case of Kit - answering to nobody at all for anything.
And Kit has proven that she answers to no one - especially not commoner homeowners. Despite the allegations that she has had, and continues to have, improper ties with the developer, Kit Sutherland has not said one word on the matter to homeowners publicly. No simple denial. No nothin' - nada, zero, zip, zilch.
And why would she? (Continued...)
She can do whatever she pleases in the name of our Association (and we foot the bill to make sure those actions are covered under our E&O policy) and as long as 'her' Board decides who will be on the ballot and who will not, she doesn't need to be concerned with having to stand for election - or, apparently, answering to those people she represents.
We've all heard from Stuart - he maintains the allegations aren't true. Fine, we heard that. Check. But the allegations weren't directed at him - they were directed at Kit. So homeowners deserve to her whether or not they are true from her.
You can't have it both ways, Mrs. Sutherland. If you don't want to answer to homeowners, then you need to resign your position as Community Officer. But until then, you are obliged to tell us the allegations aren't true yourself - not by proxy. And your lengthy silence on the matter only deepens suspicion that they may, in fact, be true. So let's hear it Kit. Speak up or stand down. Those are your choices. Letting the issue drag on is only damaging our Association, and very likely everyone's home value right along with it. But then I don't suppose you much care about that. It certainly appears that that's the case.
